Meet the Fellows
Our pediatric endocrinology and diabetes fellows come from all over the country to work with faculty on the leading edge
of research and treatment of all types of endocrine and metabolic disorders. From academic positions at the Comprehensive
Thyroid Center or clinical roles in overnight diabetes trials, fellows at CHAM receive three years of comprehensive instruction
and education to take their passion and knowledge for endocrinology to maturity.
Liset Estanislao, DO
Dr. Estanislao completed her pediatric residency at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. During her 2nd year of residency she
did a rotation with the Pediatric Endocrine division at CHAM, which confirmed her desire to pursue a career in Pediatric
Endocrinology. Her family is from the Dominican Republic, and working in the Bronx has allowed her to work closely with
people with similar backgrounds and use her Spanish speaking abilities to help them receive the best possible care.
Barbara Pitera, MD
Dr. Pitera comes from Poland, where she completed her medical training. She completed her pediatric residency at Jersey Shore
University Medical Center. She is pursuing a fellowship at Montefiore to serve an underprivileged community. Working
in New York City also allows her to be close to her family and balance work and home life.
