Requirements for Becoming a CHAM Volunteer

CHAM seeks volunteers who meet the following requirements:

Commitment: Volunteers must commit to at least 200 hours of service during a six-month period; for students, at least 100 hours during a summer term. To ensure the volunteer time is productive, individuals should be able to work at least four hours per session.

Age: Volunteers must be 16 years or older. We welcome baby boomers, seasoned professionals, young retirees and older adults.

Screening process: All volunteers are carefully screened and thoroughly trained to ensure the health, safety and privacy of our patients. Potential volunteers must complete an application in person with required identification and documents, have a health screening and come in to the office of Volunteer & Student Services for a personal interview. Interviews are by appointment only.
