Fellowship Program
The Division of Academic General Pediatrics Fellowship Program is focused on preparing the next generation of leaders in general academic pediatrics by providing training in the skills required to conduct health services research, patient centered outcomes research, quality improvement research or community based participatory research.
Fellows will design and conduct their own research project with mentorship from fellowship faculty. Fellows will complete a rigorous curriculum of research methods training through the Master of Science degree program in Clinical Research Methods through Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Fellows will also be required to participate in biweekly Investigator Research Meetings which provides a forum for ongoing feedback on research design, data analysis and manuscripts. Fellows will also have the opportunity to participate in the Departmental Science Course for Pediatric Subspecialty Fellows and receive training in research, quality improvement, safety, medical education and leadership
Specific research initiatives conducted by Fellowship faculty include examining strategies to improve screening and coordination of care among children with mental health issues, asthma prevention and treatment, physician communication and the emerging dissemination of electronic health records, early obesity prevention, and improving quality of care for children with special health care needs.
Fellows also will also provide clinical care in a primary care setting. The fellowship program is two years in length.
Fellows will receive a stipend, benefits and tuition coverage along with an allowance for books, travel and other related program expenses. The Division is particularly interested in applications from individuals from minority/disadvantaged backgrounds.
