Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery

Pediatric cardiac surgery has become a safe and effective surgery, allowing physicians to repair nearly all types of congenital heart diseases that occur, beginning from infancy and into adulthood. Our services include a large team of specialized doctors and nurses who take care of children with heart diseases as well as provide support for patients' families.

Surgical Excellence

Our surgical team is highly experienced, elevating levels of both patient safety and clinical excellence. We have expertise in performing:
  • neonatal cardiac surgery
  • complex biventricular repair
  • single-ventricle surgery
  • heart transplantation
  • insertion of ventricular assist devices
  • surgery for congenital heart disease
  • surgery for adult congenital heart disease

Multidisciplinary Services

The Pediatric Heart Center is organized to provide all types of pediatric heart surgery, from heart repair to heart transplantation, for patients of all ages, from newborns to adolescents. The surgeons work in collaboration with pediatric cardiologists to perform "hybrid procedures," a new generation of cardiac procedures performed in a recently built hybrid operating room.

Family-Centered Care

We understand how frightening it can be for parents and family members to hear their loved one has been diagnosed with a heart disease, which is why we offer a plethora of resources to help alleviate anxiety. Our expert pediatric nurses and physicians review all treatment options with the family, and our child life specialists assist patients and their families throughout the entire spectrum of care, including before and after procedures.

Our team will provide open and comprehensive information on the nature and the risk of the operation. Parents can stay 24 hours, seven days a week with their child, including in the intensive care unit.
