OUR EXPERTISE

CHAM_AdolescentMed_Group_2013_10-26At our Division of Adolescent Medicine, teens and young adults (13-20 years old) are listened to and respected as partners in their own healthcare. Whether here for an inpatient or outpatient visit, you will receive the highest quality clinical care delivered by expert physicians. Adolescents deserve age-appropriate care suited to their specific medical needs.

For over a quarter century, the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) has revolutionized healthcare for teens and young adults in the United States and across the world. Informed by the latest research, our physicians provide consultations in adolescent gynecology, menstrual disorders, eating disorders and behavioral problems, as well as primary care. Our unrivaled team of physicians, nurses and social workers understands the unique struggles teens face. We do all we can to keep our adolescent patients healthy with compassionate care, practical education and pioneering research.

RESEARCH

MMG_Wakefield_Ambulatory_Care_2013_05-222_316x210

The Adolescent AIDS Program (AAP) at CHAM aims to improve local, national and global responses to HIV/AIDS among youth through innovative medical care, research, training, advocacy and community mobilization. We offer a variety of research studies to patients—ranging from the latest in HIV medication clinical trials to studies gathering information on the medical and psychosocial issues for youth living with or at risk for HIV.

One of 14 locations across the United States chosen to participate in the National Institutes of Health (NIH)–funded Adolescent Trials Network for HIV/AIDS interventions, our program recently expanded its research opportunities to HIV-negative youth with studies on HIV prevention and testing.
