In October, CHAM orthopaedic surgeons Jacob Schulz, MD and Eric Fornari, MD joined an organization called Project Perfect World (PPW), on a trip to Guayaquil, Ecuador. Our surgeons examined 77 children and performed 25 operations. The most common surgery was complex hip reconstruction for children with dislocated hips who would otherwise never receive care. They also performed foot reconstruction surgeries for children with clubfeet. They worked closely with the surgeons at the hospital and Dr. Fornari gave a lecture on hip dysplasia that was very well received.
